Government Training with the Office of Personnel Management

This dynamic 2-day seminar, initiated in October of 2000, continues to challenge participants to plan and execute a simulated rescue as a "scientific team of American rescuers in space" (STARS). The simulation will require participants to work together in teams to change behaviors and processes, possibly even to design their future -- just as the NASA teams did a few years ago.

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has identified 27 managerial competencies that enhance the performance of today's and tomorrow's federal workplace. While focusing on seven that impact leadership during critical times, participants will create, share, and apply leadership concepts and skills to address the challenges of the decade. They will be exposed to "cutting edge" training experiences and meet and network with individuals from many government agencies.

This program is open to manager and teams who are in leadership roles. Usually GS 12's to 15's attend; however, intact teams representing various GS grade levels are appropriate.
